713 is part of the greater Houston overlay with 281, 346, 832, and 621. The same numbering region includes Houston and surrounding communities such as Baytown, League City, Missouri City, Pasadena, Pearland, Sugar Land, and The Woodlands. New 621 numbers entered service on January 23, 2025; existing 713 numbers did not change, and local calls still use ten digits.

Does a 713 caller ID mean the caller is in Houston?
No. A number can move with its subscriber, and caller ID can be spoofed. The FCC warns about “neighbor spoofing”, where a caller displays a familiar local area code or prefix to encourage an answer. A 713 display is therefore neither proof of a local caller nor a scam verdict.
