Why we built it
Searching a name often returns too little or a confident mess: several people merged into one profile, facts with no source, and a paywall before you can tell which is which. We wanted the opposite — fewer claims, each one traceable.
The product is small on purpose. It answers one question well: which returned records belong to the person you actually mean, and what is the evidence?
How we make money
Search previews are free. Full reports require a paid plan, including reports about yourself. The price and cancellation terms are shown before payment. Requests to remove your own information are free.
What we will not do
We do not score personality or risk, use face matching to link identities, sell personal data, or accept removals on behalf of other adults.

United States-focused people search, for customers in the United States. We do not claim the same coverage in other countries, and a search that needs another jurisdiction is better served elsewhere.

Recordwell is not a Consumer Reporting Agency. Reports may not be used for employment, tenancy, credit, insurance or any other FCRA-covered decision. This is a plain-language company summary; published legal terms remain controlling.

The current people-search form accepts a first and last name or a supported public-profile link. You can also start with an @username. Recordwell does not offer phone or email lookup, or search from an uploaded photo. A public-profile link is an input, not proof of identity or account control.
A name can refer to several people. Public availability does not make a record accurate, current or appropriate for every purpose. A search result also cannot establish who controls a message or account.

What a report contains
A report organises what is lawfully available under a name: connections to places over time, records that were filed publicly, business registrations and licences, and publicly visible profiles and mentions.
It presents possible matches separately so you can review the available details. That grouping does not establish identity.
Where something is uncertain, it says so. An unresolved result is a legitimate outcome, and we would rather show one than manufacture confidence.
Coverage varies, and a missing record is not evidence that nothing exists. Every report carries the status of what was and was not available.

Breach metadata, when available through our separate breach check, requires confirmation through a link sent to the email address. It reports available breach names and exposure categories, not leaked passwords, messages or other contents.

Where our data comes from
We use lawfully available or licensed information together with open public web pages.
We do not use leaked databases, scrape private accounts, or bypass logins and privacy settings.
Where a record is published by an authority, the authority's own copy remains the thing to rely on. We point you at what exists; the original is what settles anything that matters.

Accuracy and corrections
The main risk in this field is not a missing record. It is the wrong person attached to a real one.
Treat a candidate as a possible match. Review the original record, its date and conflicting details before connecting records to a person. Two matching details, or several copies of one profile, are not a universal test of identity; an unresolved result should remain unresolved.
If something we show about you is wrong, contact support with the page or report and the detail that needs review. A correction to an underlying public record may also require contacting the office that keeps it.

What we won't do
We do not sell leaked breach contents, scrape social networks against their terms, or provide vehicle-owner data restricted by the DPPA.
We do not offer monitoring of another person, alerts about someone else's activity, or any feature whose purpose is to follow an individual over time.
Recordwell is not a Consumer Reporting Agency. Our reports may not be used for hiring, tenant screening, credit, or insurance decisions under the FCRA.
If you are making one of those decisions, use a screening service built for it: those services give the person the notices the law requires and a route to dispute what is said about them.
