How Recordwell handles report data
A people report is useful only when you can see where its facts came from, understand what may be wrong, and know what happens to the data afterward. This page puts those product rules in one place before you search or pay.
It is a plain-language guide, not a substitute for the Privacy Policy, Terms, or FCRA notice. Those pages control if a summary here and a legal term ever differ.

From a search to a report
A report organizes evidence returned by sources. It is not a profile created from a personality, character, or risk score.
Keep namesakes apart
A shared name alone is not enough to merge records. We separate possible people and require independent matching fields before treating records as one identity.
Show source and confidence
The report labels the source behind a fact and distinguishes stronger matches from weaker, name-only possibilities. Confidence describes the match, never the person.

Verified removal closes the loopA verified removal blocks the matched identity from results and purges searchable Recordwell index copies. Information outside Recordwell remains under its publisher's control; suppression keeps the identity out of current and future searchable outputs.
Boundaries we keep
Lawful sources, not private access
We do not bypass logins, enter private accounts, or use face matching to connect identities. We do not sell leaked breach contents as report material.
No hidden certainty
Source information can be incomplete, outdated, or attached to the wrong namesake. Important facts must be checked against the named source before anyone relies on them.
No high-stakes screening
Recordwell is not a Consumer Reporting Agency. A report may not be used for employment, tenancy, credit, insurance, or another FCRA-covered decision.
No sale of the report you run
Reports stay available to the account that requested them. The Privacy Policy explains the narrower cases in which service providers process information for Recordwell.
Data lifecycle
What remains after a report
Information you provide
Search inputs, account details, support messages, and transaction records are processed to provide the service, secure it, answer requests, and meet legal obligations. Card details are entered on Stripe's hosted checkout, not stored by Recordwell.
Results you requested
Reports you run are stored in your account so you can return to them. We keep information only as long as needed to provide the service, meet legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce agreements; limited report caching may be used.
Suppression prevents return
After a verified removal, suppression keys derived from the submitted name and email remain with a timestamp. A limited request record may also retain the name, hashed email, request type, status, history, and dates. Original publisher records and retained source corpus may remain, but suppression excludes the identity from searchable Recordwell outputs.
Removing a Recordwell result does not erase information on other websites or in other publishers' systems. Those copies remain under the original publisher's control.

See what is exposed
Check yourself without creating a public Recordwell profile. Sensitive breach details are available only through owner verification.
Correct an error
Send the report link and the disputed item through contact support. We would rather investigate a wrong match than defend it.
Remove your information
The removal form is free, needs no account, and uses an email confirmation. Suppression follows so the result does not return on a later refresh.
Use your privacy rights
The Privacy Policy explains access, correction, deletion, opt-out, appeal, and Global Privacy Control choices and how to submit them.
A result is a lead, not a verdict
Use the cited source, location, dates, and other independent details to verify that a result belongs to the right person. If the decision affects someone's job, home, credit, or insurance, do not use Recordwell for it.
